LAWRENCEVILLE — A suspect wanted in connection to a domestic violence incident that occurred earlier this month has been apprehended, according to the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office.
Andre Charles Camarena, 23, was arrested Monday by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit at 760 Georgiana Hills Drive in Lawrenceville. He was wanted on 11 outstanding warrants stemming from the incident Oct. 12 at 1400 Herrington Road in Lawrenceville and on two outstanding warrants for probation violation.
Deputies assigned to the fugitive unit developed information regarding Camarena’s location, and based on intelligence that Camarena, a known mixed martial arts fighter, may be armed, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. unit was activated to assist.
According to the sheriff’s office, Camarena is charged with kidnapping, theft by taking a motor vehicle, aggravated assault upon a peace office with a deadly weapon, battery by causing visible bodily harm, reckless conduct, criminal trespass damage, cruelty to children in the third degree, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving on a suspended license, criminal damage to property in the second degree, obstruction of a 911 call and two counts of probation violation.
