LAWRENCEVILLE — On Friday, state and local officials and members of the Gwinnett Chamber’s economic development initiative and the Georgia Department of Economic Development joined Germany-based Lapp Group for the grand opening of the company’s Gwinnett County location.
The 25,000-square-foot facility at 2402 Tech Center Parkway, Suite 300, in Lawrenceville will serve as a distribution hub for Lapp Group subsidiaries serving the Southeast and will house sales operations and a customer training center. The facility will add 15 new jobs for the area.
“Our decision to open a distribution center in Gwinnett County was a logical and easy choice,” Marc Mackin, president of Lapp Group North America, said in a news release. “We needed a facility that was strategically located and would enable us to reach markets not only in the Southeastern United States, but the rest of North America as well. We believe this location will be ideal as we continue to expand in the future.”
Lapp Group provides products including cable, cable accessories, cable handling systems and cable harnessing for industrial connectors and communication technology.
“Companies around the world continue to look to Gwinnett County as one of the best places to grow,” Gwinnett County Board of Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash said in the release. “Our favorable business environment, global logistics infrastructure, and educated workforce provide companies, such as Lapp Group, with the support critical to their industry and success.”
