SNELLVILLE — The city of Snellville is hosting one of the last fall festivals in the county on Saturday.
For the fourth year, residents can gather on the Snellville Town Green for a day of food, games, contests and various booths.
The festival features multiple contests, including costumes and baking.
The popular cake and pie contest is back and looking for people to bring their cake and pie creations to the festival, where they will be judged by some of Snellville’s professional chefs. The winners get prizes, and the crowd gets to sample their creations. To enter, fill out the application online. This contest is on a first-come, first-serve basis and entries are limited.
For this year’s costume contest, there are more age categories, plus canine competitors. You can register online or at the festival, but no later than 1:45 p.m. The dog contest starts at 2 p.m., and the people’s contest starts at 2:15 p.m.
For the kiddies, there are rides, games and puppet shows. They can also participate in the Home Depot Built It activity or meet Chopper from the Gwinnett Braves.
For adults, there are arts and crafts vendors selling holiday gifts and live entertainment by Mabu’s ARC band and EXCITE! The Party Band on the lawn. The Clogging Connection City Center Dance takes stage at noon.
The city of Snellville likes to have fun, but it also likes to give back at the same time. For those interested, there are scarecrows up for auction at the event. With 24 scarecrows available, those with the highest bids will take home the handmade creations.
All proceeds of the silent auction benefit the Southeast Gwinnett Food Co-Op.
