Last week: Lost to Cedar Shoals 35-6
Salem Seminoles (8-AAAAA)
Coach: John Starr

Last week: Did not play
The Wildcats continue to struggle after last week’s loss to Cedar Shoals, though at least a little progress has been made in perhaps the team’s biggest problem area over the last two weeks.
After giving up 40 or more points in each of its first two games, Apalachee has held that total under 40 the past two contests, though coach Shane Davis knows that effort will have to get even better if the Wildcats are to break into the win column for the first time this season.
The Seminoles have been up and down in scoring, having posted a season-high 60 earlier in the season against Winder-Barrow, including 42 in the second half alone, but having combined for just 30 points in the three games since.
“We’ve just got to find a way,” Davis said. “We’ve got to try to get better and keep working hard. Anytime a team can put up 60 points on the board (in a game), you know they’ve got athletes. And they’re big up front. We just haven’t tackled well in space. We’ve just got to do the little things to be successful. It comes down to blocking and tackling.”
The Wildcats will look to players like defensive back Petr Mitrik to help contain Salem playmakers like quarterback Licash Lackey and running back Tryiano Green.
