Buford Books for Less buries silver for treasure hunters to find

BUFORD — A clue given during its Autumn Literary Festival could lead Books for Less customers to buried treasure.

A silver scroll is the prize for the lucky treasure hunter who uses the clues — the first will be given during Saturday’s event — to determine the location of the loot. Should no one locate the scroll based on the first clue, subsequent clues will be given out at other upcoming events.

The scroll is based on a similar object in the ChronoShift Trilogy series by Zack Mason, one of several authors who will speak during the day-long event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Here’s the author lineup:

  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. — George Weinstein, author of “The Five Destinies of Carlos Moreno
  • Noon to 2 p.m. — Richard J. Diedrich, award-winning architect and consultant specializing in golf clubhouse design, “Legendary Golf Clubhouses”
  • Noon to 3 p.m. — Harmon Snipes, author of “A Praying Man,” a story of retribution, revenge and redemption
  • 1 to 3 p.m. — Valerie Connors, author of “In Her Keeping”

  • 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. — Carole Townsend, author of “Red Lipstick & Clean Underwear,” a humorous survival guide to successfully navigating life as a woman
