Almost a year after suffering a traumatic brain injury, Tripp Halstead has undergone his 14th surgery.

This time, doctors were removing multiple fluid pockets from his brain.

According to the Facebook page where Tripp’s parents post updates on his condition, 3-year-old Tripp is in intensive care and is expected to be hospitalized for two nights.

“Thank you for all the prayers today,” Stacy Halstead wrote. “This makes surgery number 14, but when your dealing with the brain, it is never routine.”

Tripp was injured Oct. 29, 2012, at Cribs to Crayons day care facility in Winder when a large limb broke off of a tree and hit a fence before striking him in the head.
