After helping Ole Miss to a big victory over No. 6 LSU, Ole Miss senior defensive end and Shiloh grad Cameron Whigham was tabbed Southeastern Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week, the league office revealed on Monday.

Whigham posted a sack, a quarterback hurry and a pass breakup in helping the Rebels to a 27-24 triumph. The Rebels also reclaimed the rivalry’s Magnolia Bowl trophy.

The Ole Miss defense posted season highs of three interceptions and three sacks and became the first team to hold LSU scoreless in the first half this season.

Whigham earns an SEC weekly award for the first time in his career. He has come up big for a Rebel D-line unit decimated by injuries and has totaled 20 tackles with 2.5 TFLs, a sack and a forced fumble this season.
