PEACHTREE CORNERS — Your pumpkin may not be carved yet, but with the holiday season around the corner, officials in Peachtree Corners are preparing for the city’s first Christmas parade.
The event will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 23, which is the Saturday before Thanksgiving, a United Peachtree Corners Civic Association newsletter said.
“As the newest and largest city in Gwinnett County we are in a unique position of creating traditions to call our own,” the newsletter said. “The holidays are the perfect time to begin something that will make special memories for our citizens for generations to come.”
With a route along The Corners Parkway, the tree-lined street that has hosted the Peachtree Corners Festival, the Christmas parade will include the arrival of Santa on “Candy Cane Lane,” where kids can visit with the Jolly Old Elf, give their lists and get a photo.
The new nonprofit Christmas in the Corners, which will promote shopping locally with special promotions from merchants, is organizing the parade and looking for participants.
