Two teams at opposite ends of Class AAAAAA meet tonight in Mt. Airy.

North Gwinnett is undefeated and ranked No. 1 in the state. Habersham Central is winless and is coming off a loss to Meadowcreek, ending the Mustangs’ 53-game losing streak.

North Gwinnett was nearly dealt its first loss of the season last week when it trailed by 19 points in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs scored 22 points in an 80-second span to win.

Missouri commitment Nate Brown had another big game with four touchdown catches, while quarterback Hayden Sphire threw five touchdown passes.

Running back C.J. Leggett rushed for more than 100 yards for the second-straight week with 115 yards against Mill Creek.

The 47 points allowed by North Gwinnett was more than the previous four games combined this year. The unit got a strong game from Anree Saint-Amour with eight tackles, one forced fumble and a QB pressure. Ali Edwards added five tackles and one forced fumble and fumble recovery.

Habersham has lost 10-straight games dating back to last season. Prior to last week’s 21-14 loss, the Raiders scored just six points in the previous four games combined.
