With the race approaching next year, candidates for Georgia’s U.S. Senate seat are continuing to make a point to stop by in Gwinnett.
Many of the GOP candidates will be here later this month as part of a Republican Party chili cook-off, but for those who want to have some more face time, Karen Handel is scheduled to attend a meet and greet in Peachtree Corners this weekend.
Handel, the former secretary of state and past gubernatorial candidate, will talk to voters from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Atlanta Bread Company at the Forum on Peachtree Corners Circle.
Ron and Marianne Murray, the owners of the lcoal eatery, and Ron and Gay Shook are hosting the event, which is open to the community.
Next week, former presidential candidate Herman Cain will be in Gwinnett.
Cain will broadcast his political talk show on WSB radio from the Duluth Town Green during the event, scheduled for 9 a.m. until noon Friday, Oct. 25.
According to a press release, people are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and lunch to enjoy the political banter. Some may even be able to ask questions at the free event.
