Area business raises money to fight childhood cancer

Area Gigi’s Cupcakes locations, including the Norcross store, raised money during the month of September to support the fight against childhood cancer.

September was national pediatric cancer month, and Gigi’s Cupcakes was approached by Chris Glavine, Tom Glavine’s wife, about partnering to support CURE Childhood Cancer, a nonprofit organization. All four Atlanta area Gigi’s collaborated and designed, baked, and sold gold ribbon cupcakes each Saturday throughout the month. Tom Glavine gave each store four autographed baseballs, which they raffled every Saturday to customers who purchased the cupcakes.

The stores presented a check for $1,695 to CURE Childhood Cancer on Oct. 7. The Norcross store raised $450 for the cause.
