NORCROSS — The cause of an overnight fire at a Norcross used car dealership remained undetermined Monday.
Gwinnett County firefighters responded to Atlanta Auto Max, 5506 Buford Highway in unincorporated Norcross, just before 2 a.m. Monday.
“Caller to the 911 dispatch center stated that they saw smoke and fire coming from the business and heard explosions inside,” spokesman Lt. Colin Rhoden said. “Crews arriving to the scene found fire showing from the end of the service area of the auto dealership.”
Firefighters attacked the blaze from outside and had it under control within about 25 minutes. There were no injuries reported.
The service area of the business sustained heavy damage, Rhoden said. The cause of the fire was undetermined and under investigation.
“It has not been definitely determined what caused the explosions,” Rhoden said, “but products used in the service area are the probable cause.”
