PREP ROUNDUP: Mill Creek softball clinches No. 3 seed

HOSCHTON — Mill Creek earned a No. 3 seed for the upcoming Class AAAAAA state playoffs Friday with an 11-2 win over Habersham Central in a five-inning finale to the Region 7-AAAAAA Tournament.

Kaitlyn Howell (6-1) pitched all five innings and needed just 38 pitches for a complete game. She threw only seven balls.

Heather Felt led the Hawks’ offense, going 3-for-4 with a double and five RBIs. Emily Robertson also had a big game with a 4-for-4 performance with a double and two RBIs.

Mill Creek (24-6) also got nice offensive games from Kaylyn Anthony (2-for-3, double), Morgan Bell (2-for-4, double) and Kenzer Fagioli (2-for-4, three runs).

Habersham is the No. 4 seed from 7-AAAAAA in the state tourney.
