SUWANEE — An event that organizers expect to draw more than 9,000 people returns to Suwanee this week as those with an appetite will have a wide selection of food options.
Taste of Suwanee, an annual event at Town Center Park, is put on as a benefit for the North Gwinnett basketball booster club, and scheduled for noon on Saturday. More than 30 restaurants and vendors are scheduled to participate, as attendees sample appetizers, entrees and desserts. The event will also be showing college football games, have a kids zone with inflatables, rides, games, face painting and live music and dance performances.
New this year is 5K race along the Suwanee Greenway that begins at 11 a.m. Race registration begins at 10 a.m. The tasting event is from noon to 5 p.m.
Admission is free, but food and activities in the kids zone are available through a ticket purchase. There will also be an arts and crafts market with more than 50 booths. Parking is available at Town Center Park and Shadowbrook Baptist Church.
Free shuttles will run between 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. between the park and Shadowbrook Baptist Church.
