NORCROSS — Three Norcross teenagers have been charged with beating and raping a woman they met at a local restaurant.
Kevin Dominguez, 18, and 16-year-olds Victor Cruz-Ramirez and Marvin Leonel Sanchez were taken into custody Thursday. They’ll all be charged as adults for their alleged roles in a brutal Sept. 27 attack. All are students at Norcross High School.
According to police, the three teens were at a restaurant at 6200 Buford Highway in unincorporated Norcross that night when they met an adult female. The woman reportedly followed the teens — whom she did not know beforehand — out of the restaurant and to their car, where they were to retrieve cigarettes to smoke together.
Instead, “the three suspects attacked the victim and dragged her into some bushes behind the restaurant,” Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said. “They beat the victim with their fists and took turns sexually assaulting her.”
The suspects fled on foot after the assault, Smith said. The victim made her way to a nearby apartment complex where residents provided help and called police.
Responding officers noted “extensive bruising, lacerations and swelling” on the victim, who was transported to a local hospital and sexual assault center for evaluation. Information provided by the victim and other people at the restaurant that night ultimately led detectives to Dominguez, Cruz-Ramirez and Sanchez, Smith said.
Dominguez is being held without bond at the Gwinnett County jail. His two younger counterparts are being held at the Gwinnett Regional Youth Detention Center.
Several restaurants are located at 6200 Buford Highway. Smith declined to share which was involved in last week’s assault.
The Daily Post does not identify alleged victims of sexual crimes.
