DACULA – Council members awarded two paving contracts during Thursday’s city council meeting, one for Michelle Circle and the other for Brookton Woods Way. F.E. Sims Enterprises, Inc., will pave Michelle Circle for a cost of $93,620. ShepCo Paving of Conyers was awarded the contract to pave Brookton Woods Way, for a cost of $42,000. Work on both projects will begin immediately.
City administrator Jim Osborn also received the go-ahead from council to solicit bids for sidewalk construction between Publix supermarket and the Cornerstone shopping center.
Alcohol ordinance amended
The city’s alcohol ordinance was amended Thursday, primarily a housekeeping matter aimed at bringing consistency to the city’s regulation of alcohol sales. In the change, guidelines for consumption of on-premise distilled spirits were established. Businesses and organizations seeking to obtain permits to sell distilled spirits on premise should contact city hall.
