STONE MOUNTAIN — To accompany its re-vampe looks, ART Station is opening two new exhibits in its renovated facilities.

On Saturday, the Stone Mountain venue welcomes its fall member’s exhibit upstairs and “I Phonetics” downstairs.

The fall members’ exhibit is juried by Christopher Hickey, professor of art at Clark Atlanta University. Member artists of ART Station are eligible to submit work to three to four member exhibits annually, providing them an opportunity to have their work seen and also sold. Close to 50 members are a part of this exhibit.

“I Phonetics” on the other hand features Marie Matthews’ work with iPhone photography. Her iPhone photos have gained worldwide recognition in multiple publications and online. It has been exhibited in Los Angeles, London and Barcelona. This is the first time the exhibit is to be shown in metro Atlanta.

On Oct. 12, Matthews will present a Gallery Talk to the public for free.

For the new exhibits, ART Station is hosting an opening reception for all of the artists. The other galleries around the Historic Stone Mountain Village will be open for people to take an Art Stroll.

Attendees are invited to visit all of them, free of charge. A map and list of the galleries may be picked up at ART Station. The free event features light refreshments and door prizes.

The exhibits run through Nov. 9.
