SNELLVILLE — Charges are pending against two juveniles in connection to a robbery at Shiloh High School on Tuesday afternoon.
Gwinnett County Public Schools officials said two students were robbed of their cell phones just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday after three unknown males approached them as they waited for a ride behind the school. GCPS spokesman Jorge Quintana said one of the juveniles is a Shiloh student, but the other is not enrolled at Shiloh or any school in GCPS.
Shiloh Principal Eric Parker wrote in a letter to parents on Wednesday that school officials are taking additional steps for students’ safety.
Parker wrote that he asked the School Resource Officer to provide additional assistance to the school in the hours immediately after school, and has alerted staff to stay vigilant and report anything or anyone that may appear to be unusual.
Parker wrote that an announcement to the student body about the incident would be made on Wednesday to heighten their awareness, and he offered several safety tips about cell phone use.
“We will continue to strive to make sure our students know they are safe during the school day and every minute that they are on our school campus,” Parker wrote.
