LAWRENCEVILLE Marvin Kenneth Echols Marvin Kenneth Echols of Lawrenceville, Georgia, the youngest of four children born to Floyd Dean Echols and L. Ruth Paxton Echols, was born on June 19, 1942. He departed this life peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2013. Marvin was predeceased by his father, Floyd Echols; mother, Ruth Echols; older brother, Harrison V. Echols; and older sister, Dorothy L. Echols Murray. Those who will cherish his memory are: a sister, Mary D. Echols Kendrick (Reverend James); a dear and devoted friend, Carolyn M. Carter; sister-in-law, Mae Bell Echols; two nieces, Renata Kendrick Cooper (James) and Melody L. Murray; three nephews, C. Baxter Murray, James Alan Kendrick, and Derek V. Echols; four great nieces, Erica Murray, Carter D. Cooper, Morgan B. Echols, and Logan Murray; three great nephews, Rev. Eric D. Hurst (Chantanette), Ashley Hurst, and James (Ricky) Cooper; one great-great niece, Summer Ivory Hurst; two half-sisters, Hazel King Norwood and Betty Jean King Minor; two half-brothers, Forrest (Ned) King and Johnny King; and many, many cousins, extended relatives, and friends. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Gregory B. Levett and Sons Funeral Home, 914 Scenic Highway, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30045. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at 12:00 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 797 Moon Road SW, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046, prior to the funeral service which will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at the East Shadowlawn Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
