Archer outlasts Dacula in 10-inning softball showdown

LAWRENCEVILLE — Archer edged Dacula 4-3 Monday night in 10 innings, securing the No. 2 seed for this week's Region 8-AAAAAA softball tournament.

Archer (18-7, 5-1) got a strong effort from Kory Best (11-3), who notched the win and pitched all 10 innings. Jacqui Switzer (1-for-3, two runs) and Jenna Graham (2-for-5, two RBIs) led the Tigers' offense.

Graham also drove in the game-winning run in the 10th inning.

Dacula (17-4) was led offensively by Samantha Kates (3-for-4, RBI) and Keeli Waugh (2-for-3, two RBIs). Pitcher Kendra Pfister allowed only four hits and struck out four.
