Students serve Thanksgiving
More than 30 students from the Georgia campus of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee helped to purchase, prepare and serve dinner at the Rainbow Village annual Thanksgiving Dinner held at Perimeter Church in Johns Creek last week.
Rainbow Village is a transitional housing community for homeless families with children.
The dinner was attended by current and past Rainbow Village families and other friends of Rainbow Village and drew more than 300 adults and children.
“We are working to create awareness among Georgia residents about the need to pull resources together to strive to eliminate poverty, homelessness and domestic violence from our society,” said TeKesha Henry, an osteopathic medical student who coordinated GA — PCOM’s involvement in the event.
