LAWRENCEVILLE — The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Gwinnett County in effect from 7 a.m. Tuesday through Wednesday morning.
Rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are forecasted for the area and higher amounts are possible.
According to the National Weather Service, storm drains and ditches may quickly become clogged with debris and leaves, which could cause extensive street flooding and road ponding. Minor flooding of some of the larger creeks or rivers is likely with the expected total rainfall amounts.
The National Weather Service also says that the rain may turn to a wintery mix of rain and snow before noon Wednesday.
