BUFORD — A Buford man reportedly smoked crack before peering through his female neighbor’s window, waking her up by proclaiming his love for her.

The alleged victim called Gwinnett County police officers to her home on Valley Court — tucked between Interstate 985 and Satellite Boulevard, not far from Buford Drive — at about 5:20 a.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, the 24-year-old woman was “visibly shaken, crying and very scared.”

“(The alleged victim) advised that she was awakened in her bedroom by a male that lives across the street,” an incident report said. “The victim advised that she woke up and observed Mr. Sanchez standing at her bedroom window looking inside and yelling, ‘I love you.’”

“Mr. Sanchez” was allegedly Tomas Sanchez-Jimenez, a bearded, long-haired man that the woman said she didn’t know but had moved in across the street about three months prior. After she spotted him, the Sanchez-Jimenez allegedly began walking around the residence trying to open locked doors.

Sanchez-Jimenez was “peeking out of his window” while authorities spoke with the alleged victim, police said, and was eventually coaxed outside.

“Mr. Sanchez admitted to smoking drugs (crack cocaine) tonight and advised he saw women dancing seductively in (the alleged victim’s) window,” the incident report said. “Mr. Sanchez advised he went over to the window to see more of the women.”

While searching Sanchez-Jimenez, the responding officer reportedly noticed that the suspect’s “pants zipper was down and his penis was exposed.”

Sanchez-Jimenez, a 34-year-old native of Mexico, was arrested and charged with peeping Tom, a felony. Gwinnett County jail records indicate he is being held for immigration authorities.
