New pet hospital in Snellville hosting grand opening
A new Banfield Pet Hospital opening at 1929 Scenic Highway N. in Snellville is holding its official grand opening from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
The event will feature refreshments and activities, including contests, giveaways, “Ask-the-Vet” sessions and hospital tours. Staff veterinarians at the Snellville location are Dr. Genine Ervin and Dr. Orlando Williams.
“We look forward to assisting local pet owners by providing quality veterinary care for their pets,” said Ervin, lead veterinarian. “Our focus is to offer preventive care services for pets and establish personal relationships with Snellville-area pet owners.”
To further commemorate the grand opening and give back to the pet community, 20 percent of Banfield’s opening weekend revenue will be donated to Save a Litter Pregnant Dog Rescue.

Local couple starts small business
Gwinnett residents Alan and Betsy Carleton have opened a Fresh Coat Painters franchise in Buford.
Fresh Coat Painters offers residential and commercial painting services including interior and exterior painting, wood staining and finishing, and other services for nearly every protective coating application.
“I spent more than 20 years in outside sales and I knew, based on our experiences as homeowners, that it was incredibly frustrating to work with contractors,” Alan Carleton said.“When we decided it was time to look for a small business opportunity, it was that experience that drew us to Fresh Coat Painters. There are other painting companies in our area, but we bring a strong commitment to quality and customer service that other companies haven’t demonstrated.”
