Barbara Jean Baker, of Duluth, GA, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 16, 2013. A memorial service will be held at Bill Head Funeral Homes & Crematory Duluth Chapel at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Richard (Dick) Lee Baker. She is survived by her sons, Vance Baker and Matthew Baker and a brother, Jack Bookout.
Barbara was an educator with the Gwinnett County Schools for over 30 years, serving as Media Specialist at Central Gwinnett High, Duluth High and Brookwood High Schools. She also worked as a Media Specialist and Librarian at First Baptist Church Duluth. Barbara was very supportive of her husband and they worked side by side in several churches in the southeast for over 40 years, retiring in Duluth after his last pastorate of 14 years at First Baptist Church Duluth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Duluth Building Fund.
