The Atlanta Braves on Wednesday released the first images of what could be their new home in Cobb County.

The Braves and private partners are investing nearly $400 million into a mixed-use development surrounding the proposed new stadium.

The project will include an estimated 700,000 to 1 million square feet of retail, restaurants, residential, hotel and office space.

"Major components of the project will be built in conjunction with the proposed stadium, scheduled to open in 2017," a team release said.

According to the release, the investment into Cobb County will yield yearly revenues of:

  • Approximately $6 million in property taxes
  • More than 3 million for the Cobb County School district
  • $800,000 to the Cumberland CID and $480,000 to the Cumberland Special Service District Tax, both of which will go toward paying the Cobb County bonds for the stadium.

"Intended to thrive year-round, the project constitutes the development of the last large piece of undeveloped property in the Cumberland CID."
