Paul V. Townley
It is with great sadness that the family of Paul V. Townley announces the death of a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend on November 15, 2013 at the age of 82.
He was a native of Lawrenceville, GA. After 4 years of service in the US Air Force, he returned to the Atlanta area and started to work for General Motors as a clerk in the employment office. When he retired from GM in 1987, he was Plant Manager of the GM Assembly plant in Arlington, TX. Upon retirement he moved to Ormond Beach, FL., where he enjoyed walking the beach, playing golf (5 hole in ones), attending performances of Broadway shows, the symphony and operas. His zest for life and giving kind heart will be missed by all who knew him.
Paul is lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 62 years, Shirley; and his three sons and their spouses, Chris and Sandi, Matt and Joan, Russ and Monica; his grandchildren, Heather, Shaun and Erin, Josh, Anna, Nicole and Kelli; his great-grandsons Matthew and Joseph; his sister Reba Britt; his brother in-law Dan Collins; his sister in-law Jeanette Bramblett and many nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Lamar and Essie Mae Townley; his brothers and their spouses, Jack and Freda Townley, Bobby and Betty Townley; his sister and her spouse Lola Mae and Leonard Culbreth; his brother in-law Harry Butch Britt, his sister in-law Sybil Collins and brother in-law Larry Bramblett.
A private service in memory of Paul will be held in Lawrenceville, Ga. at a later date. Donations in memory of Paul may be made to Hospice Care at Vitas (www.vitas.com), 2381 Mason Ave, Suite 100, Daytona Beach, FL 32117
