SUWANEE — The latest film in Suwanee’s ongoing independent film series will be shown this week, and features a look at the work that goes into making wine.

The feature-length documentary is scheduled to be shown at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Movie Tavern at 2855 Lawrenceville Suwanee Road. Tickets are $6 and available at the Movie Tavern or at movietavern.com.

The movie is called “Harvest” and follows five family wineries in Sonoma County, Calif., during the 2011 harvest, which was the worst in that region in 50 years, according to a press release.

Filmmaker John Beck is scheduled to be at the showing. Beck directs and produces documentaries and promotional videos, and works as a freelance journalist.

The series of independent films is set to continue in February, March and April.
