Central Gwinnett’s Todd Wofford was announced Thursday as the East head coach for the AT&T Georgia Junior Bowl, a high school football showcase for the state’s top junior football players planned for next month.
The East coaching staff also includes South Gwinnett’s John Small, in his ninth season as the Comets’ head coach, as well as Central assistant Mike Yocca. Yocca is Wofford’s assistant head coach and running backs coach with the Black Knights. The Junior Bowl, operated by RisingSeniors.com, will be played Dec. 31 at Grady Stadium in Atlanta. Kickoff is planned for 1 p.m.
The East roster will feature a number of Gwinnett standouts, including one of Wofford’s Black Knights, Adonis Thomas. Buford’s Austin Smith, Nick Polino, Quay Picou and Joshua Thomas, Shiloh’s Cameron Stewart, Archer’s Gabe Tiller, North Gwinnett’s Jaye Stackhouse, Mill Creek’s Johnathan Hawkins, Grayson’s Jordan Hayes and Justin Young, Mountain View’s Kielan Whitner, Collins Hill’s Miles Fox, Lanier’s Trevon McSwain and Parkview’s Trey Derouen are also on the roster.
