Winder police chief and two top employees placed on leave

Winder’s police chief and two other top employees have been placed on paid administrative leave while the city looks into allegations of irregularities in the way a test was administered within the police department.

“I take these allegations very seriously and have instructed the City Attorney to procure the services of David Archer, to conduct an investigation,” Mayor David Maynard said in a statement. “During this investigation I have placed Chief Dennis Dorsey, Major Jim Fullington and Lieutenant Frank Farr on administrative leave with pay.”

Maynard said Lieutenant Rob Curott is acting as Chief and that none of the allegations are of a criminal nature.
