Tournament seeding and schedule of play have been announced by host Georgia Gwinnett College for the Association of Independent Institutions Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships, which are Nov. 15-16 at the Grizzly Soccer Complex.

The tournament participants and seeds are identical on the men’s and women’s sides, as determined by the NAIA’s Modified RPI rankings.

Ashford University (Clinton, Iowa) has claimed the No. 1 seed, followed by No. 2 California State University San Marcos (San Marcos, Calif.), No. 3 host Georgia Gwinnett College and No. 4 Lindenwood University-Belleville (Belleville, Ill.).

On Friday, Nov. 15, the men’s semifinals will be played first, followed by the women’s semifinals.

At 10 a.m., the top-seeded Ashford men’s team (12-3-1) will take on the fourth-seeded Lindenwood-Belleville men’s team (12-4-2). At 1 p.m., the second-seeded Cal State San Marcos men (10-4-2) will battle the third-seeded and host Georgia Gwinnett men’s team (13-4).

At 4 p.m., the top-seeded Ashford women’s team (12-3) will play the fourth-seeded Lindenwood-Belleville women (8-8-1), followed by a 7 p.m. game between the second-seeded Cal State San Marcos women’s squad (9-5-1) and the third-seeded Georgia Gwinnett women (14-3-1).

Winners advance to the championships on Saturday, Nov. 16. The men’s final will be played on Saturday at 4 p.m. and the women’s final will be played at 7 p.m.

Tickets to each day of the tournament are $7 for adults and $5 for students (age 5 through college age), seniors (age 55 and over) and active-duty military. Children under 5 are free. Members of the Georgia Gwinnett College community with a valid Claw Card are free. Grizzly Season Passes will not be honored for postseason play.

One ticket purchase per day grants admission to all contests on that day.

Bleacher seating for around 500 fans is available and fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs as ample sideline and hillside seating also are available.

Free parking is located in the parking deck at the main entrance to the GGC campus at 1000 University Center Lane. Handicapped drop-off access is located adjacent to the ticket building and a shuttle to the field is available upon request.

All games will be video streamed live online on the Grizzly Digital Network with play-by-play commentary from Matt Mahony. Games involving GGC will be free of charge while all non-GGC contests are available for $7.95 through Stretch Internet, LLC. Live stats also will be available for each contest.

The Grizzly Soccer Complex was opened in Sept. 2012 and features a state-of-the-art synthetic turf playing surface. All teams will take part in the championship banquet, held Thursday, Nov. 14, on the GGC campus, hosted by Grizzly Athletics administration.
