Nonprofit launches new driving awareness campaign

SNELLVILLE -- The Gwinnett Pearls of Service Foundation, Inc. launches its "Life Is Beautiful: W8 2 Text!," a community awareness campaign designed to discourage distracted driving from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday.

The Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., is hosting the free fair at Snellville Senior Center located at 2350 Oak Road in Snellville.

Members of the group plan to educate the community on the dangers of distracted driving, which includes using a cell phone, texting and eating. At the end of the fair, members will help attendees download safe texting apps for their smartphones.
