3 adults displaced in fire that claims dog

LILBURN -- Three adults were displaced from a house fire in Lilburn late Sunday night.

Gwinnett firefighters responded to the 1400 block of Martin Nash Road just before midnight and found the home "fully involved with fire," Gwinnett Fire Lt. Colin Rhoden said. The blaze was under control in about 20 minutes, but crews later found one of the family's dogs deceased and another missing. The dogs were a pit bull and pit bull mix.

The fire caused heavy damage to a front bedroom and throughout the house, Rhoden said.

No injuries were reported, and Rhoden said one person told firefighters that working smoke alarms alerted the family of the fire.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, Rhoden said.
