SUWANEE -- Food trucks are scheduled to return to Suwanee on June 7, and they'll be followed by a screening of "The Amazing Spider-Man" that same weekend.
Eight trucks are due at 7 p.m. in Town Center Park, one month after the first-ever food truck event in the city. The food trucks expected to arrive are Bubble Tea, Champion Cheesesteak, Freckled and Blue, Hail Caesar, King of Pops, Mac the Cheese, Nana G's Waffles and Chicken, Tex Tacos and Yumbii.
The first Food Truck Friday event drew a large crowd on May 3, despite overcast and rainy weather. Nana G's was the most popular truck that night, and customers lined up for more than an hour for chicken and waffles.
A free performance by Funk Sandwich and Nathan Angelo, a band based at Gwinnett Church, is scheduled for 7 p.m.
One night later, Town Center Park will be the venue for a Movies Under the Stars free screening of "The Amazing Spider-Man." The 2012 film rated PG-13 will begin shortly after dusk. Snack, blankets and lawn chairs are welcome, but alcohol is not allowed in the park, city officials said. The film stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.
