GAB: Women's shelter fundraiser is Saturday

LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Division of Family and Children Services is sponsoring a Business Attire and Heels Drive on behalf of Gwinnett County's Women's Shelter, Partners Against Domestic Violence.

The purpose of the event is to assist in providing business attire for the women in the shelter to continue or enter into the workforce. They will collect gently used (clean) business wear and heels (dress shoes).

In addition, the organization will provide information on children that are free for adoption and on how to become a foster parent.

The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 33 S. Clayton St., Lawrenceville.

Vaccination clinic is Saturday

SUWANEE -- The Georgia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has scheduled a vaccination clinic for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at 1175 Buford Highway, Suite 109, Suwanee.

Services include canine and feline rabies shots, $10; canine and feline distemper shots, $10; canine bordetella shots, $10; canine heartworm test, $25; microchip, $25; and combo test, $25.

All dogs must be on a leash, and all cats must be in a carrier. If your animal has had an allergic reaction to vaccinations in the past, the organization recommends that you see your regular veterinarian.

All proceeds from the clinic go to help save the lives of homeless animals in Georgia.
