VIDALIA — The Greater Atlanta Christian girls golf team made a nice run at defending its Class AA state championship, but finished as state runner-up Monday at Point Golf Club.

GAC's Bailey Tardy shot 75 and finished as state runner-up, while the Spartans also got an 84 from Elizabeth Mizell. The Spartans' 150 was nine shots behind champion Vidalia, which was playing on its home course.

Wesleyan (182) placed third thanks to a strong round from Wilton Kennerly, who was fourth overall with an 82. Camille High added a 100 for the Wolves.
