Broncos lead Gwinnett finishers in AAAAAA girls golf

MOULTRIE — The Brookwood girls golf team was Gwinnett's top finisher in Monday's Class AAAAAA state tournament at Sunset Country Club with a fourth-place finish.

The Broncos shot 253, one shot better than North Gwinnett, which was tied for fifth. Taylor Allen and Harmanprit Kaur each shot 79 for Brookwood, which also got 95s from Elisa Groccia and Kaitlyn Cundiff. Allen and Kaur tied for 11th individually.

Christina Yang led North with a 76, tying for seventh individually. Alex Hudson shot 82 and Callie Cronin added a 96.

Mill Creek and Dacula each shot 264, tying for eighth place. Katie Plummer shot 82 to lead the Hawks and Garnett Glaser shot 90, while Kiersten Nowell and Christie Blaurock both shot 87 to lead the Falcons.

Duluth (273) tied for 13th in the team standings, led by Sally Kim's 77 and Jordyn Sims' 88. Kim tied for 11th.

Grayson's Julie Spangler shot 84 and Mountain View's Hannah Magda shot 91 — both qualified for the tourney as individuals.

Lambert (220) and Milton (225) posted very low scores to finish 1-2 in the team standings.
