Silverbacks sign former Clemson goalkeeper Mizell

Former Clemson goalkeeper Cody Mizell has signed with the Atlanta Silverbacks, the club announced Thursday.

The Woodstock graduate will give Atlanta depth at keeper after Joe Nasco was red-carded in the team's 3-0 loss at FC Edmonton on Sunday. Grayson grad Eric Ati is the team's other goalkeeper.

Mizell, 21, made 50 starts at Clemson and received conference and national honors. He has also played club soccer for the Concorde Fire and was a runner-up for Gatorade High School Player of the Year two years in a row.
