SUWANEE -- Four veteran educators were tapped to lead local elementary schools for the 2013-14 year during a Thursday board of education meeting.
Officials with Gwinnett County Public Schools gave a unanimous nod, naming Carrie Yougel as principal of Duncan Creek Elementary; Daniel Skelton, Level Creek Elementary; Allan Gee, Mountain Park Elementary; and Rukina Walker, Trip Elementary.
Yougel will take the helm at Duncan Creek as Principal Debbie Chavannes retires.
Skelton will take the place of Principal Nancy Kiel, who is leaving the district.
A former GCPS leader, Gee returns to Gwinnett as principal of Mountain Park Elementary. He'll take the helm as Principal Valerie Robinett replaces Principal Kathy Jones at Camp Creek Elementary.
Walker will lead Trip Elementary, replacing Principal Marci Sledge who transfers to Pinckneyville Middle due to the retirement of Principal Wanda Yeargin.
All four have attended or are attending the school district's 2013 Quality-Plus Leader Academy, Aspiring Principal Program.
