Dacula's Brown, North's Short pick colleges

Dacula pitcher Dylan Brown will continue his baseball career when he attends Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus next fall.

The senior left-hander was 2-4 for the Falcons this spring with a team-best 2.42 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 48 innings pitched.

The son of James and Robin Brown, he is a four-year letter winner and has compiled a 5-9 record with a 2.90 ERA and 110 strikeouts in 103 innings over his past three varsity seasons.

Brown was recently an honorable mention selection to the Gwinnett Dugout Club's coaches' All-County team, as well as a second-team selection to the Region 8-AAAAAA team, and holds many Dacula school pitching records.

Short picks West Georgia

North Gwinnett's Cody Short will be playing college baseball at West Georgia beginning in the fall after signing a National Letter of Intent with the Wolves on Wednesday.

The senior outfielder, the son of Tina and Chris Short, led all North starters with a .354 average, and added a home run, 14 RBIs, a .918 OPS and eight stolen bases in eight attempts in helping the Bulldogs to their eighth straight state playoff appearance this spring.
