Brookwood grads help VSU to Gulf South baseball title

Brookwood grads Clint Carr and Michael Gouge, both freshmen at Valdosta State, helped the Blazers win the Gulf South Conference Tournament Championship for the second time in four years. VSU has won 25 of its last 31 games heading into the NCAA South Regional.

During the season, Carr provided outstanding work at catcher with a .987 fielding percentage with 139 putouts. He is currently batting .263 with 10 runs scored and 13 RBIs in 19 games. Gouge, a third baseman/first baseman, is currently batting .305 with 45 hits, 26 RBIs, 11 stolen bases and 15 walks in 46 games.
