Archer's Beuglas named coach of the year

Archer head wrestling coach Tom Beuglas was selected as the National Wrestling Coach Association Coach of the Year from Georgia.

Beuglas led the Tigers to the Class AAAAAA dual and traditional state championships in the school's fourth year of existence.

During the 2012-13 season, Archer won 13 tournaments, including the Gwinnett County championship and Area 8 titles.

The Tigers had 14 state tournament qualifiers, including 12 placers with three runner-ups and four champs.

Amateur Wrestling News ranked Archer No. 33 in the nation and was selected them as team of the week during the season.

It's the second time Beuglas has been recognized by the NCWA. He was the Assistant Coach of the Year in 2004 at Parkview.

McNair's Ramon Tillery was the selected as the Assistant Coach of the Year this season. Northgate's Tyler Askey was named Wrestler of the Year after completing a high school career with four state titles and 196-0 record.
