Saturday is going to the dogs.

Well, at least in two cities. The city of Suwanee is hosting Star 94's Woofstock while the Gwinnett Humane Society is throwing its annual PAWfest celebration at Tribble Mill Park in Lawrenceville.

From noon to 7 p.m., Suwanee welcomes the return of Woofstock, a day for pet owners and their four-legged companions to enjoy the outdoors with food, music and demonstrations.

Musical performances include Departure, Gareth Asher and the Dave Matthews Tribute Band. Throughout the day, there are contests, workshops and exhibitions ranging from Frisbee and high jumping to protection and flash obedience.

All dogs, cats, birds and ferrets are welcome, but the critters must be on a leash.

Admission is free. Town Center Park is located at 330 Town Center Ave. in Suwanee. For more information, visit www.star94.com.

Tribble Mill Park in Lawrenceville is going to be invaded with pups for the Gwinnett Humane Society's 20th annual PAWfest with demonstrations, clinics, contests, raffles and hikes.

Event organizers have teamed up with Right to Hike, a nonprofit dedicated to hiking safety, to set up a Pack Hike. The 5K and one-mile walk start at 9:30 a.m.

During the 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. event, attendees have a chance to watch dock diving land demonstrations, dog contests and the PAW games.

People also have a chance to place bids during the silent auction. Some items up for grabs include two roundtrip tickets on Southwest Airlines, a mountain getaway, a golf package and a pampered pooch package. All of the money collected goes back in the Humane Society.

Admission is free and held at the Ozora Meadows section of Tribble Mill Park, which is located at 2125 Tribble Mill Parkway in Lawrenceville. For more information, visit www.pawfest.com.

Both events are rain or shine.
