DULUTH — Joseph Sivonda, accused of robbing and raping at least five women, is no longer on the lam.

Representatives from the United States Marshals and Gwinnett County’s police and sheriff’s departments detained Sivonda, on the lam since May 2, on Thursday morning. Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said he was found at the Duluth apartment of a friend — 30-year-old Tiffany Martin, who was also arrested and charged with hindering the apprehension of a felon.

Sivonda, 23, is accused of luring Gwinnett-area escorts to various apartments before robbing them at gunpoint and forcing them to perform sexual favors. At least five different incidents have been reported.

Paroled only six months ago after serving more than six years for another robbery series, Sivonda is being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.

Smith said Sivonda has formally been charged with two counts of rape and three apiece of aggravated sodomy and armed robbery.

“Further charges are under investigation,” he said.
