NORCROSS — The traditional state wrestling tournament is returning to Gwinnett County.
After being moved to Macon this season, the tournament will be held at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in 2014 it was announced on Sunday at the Georgia chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
"I'm excited to announce the state tournament will be in Gwinnett next year," Atlanta Takedown Association Tournament Director Bud Hennebaul said.
The traditional state wrestling tournament was held at the Arena at Gwinnett Center from 2006-12. Due to a scheduling conflict, the tournament was moved to Macon this season.
Georgia High School Association associate director Denis Tallini confirmed the tournament will return to Gwinnett and said an official announcement will be made this week.
The dual state tournament will remain in Macon.
