LETTERS: Sequester shows Obama is all politics

Sequester shows Obama is all about politics

Eugene Robinson's column ("Obama goes wobbly on sequestration" May 3, 7A) removes any and all doubt that the Democrat party and the liberal media are more concerned with making a political point rather than taking steps to move this country forward.

Rather than recognizing our government has waste at every level that could and should be reduced or eliminated, Robinson goes to the tried and true Democrat fear tactic of saying budget cuts only hurt the needy and the less fortunate. Lest we forget the White House dinners for the Hollywood stars and the separate, and expensive vacations that the Obamas took.

There are two points that Robinson forgets: 1) The sequester was/is a proposal put forth by the White House, and 2) Congress offered to give the White House (government) the authority to move funds to fund more important operations. The latter was soundly rejected by the White House.

When Congress called the president's bluff, he and the Democrats embarked on a punish the public attack in a manner akin to a spoiled child not getting his way. Robinson fails to recognize the economic engine that the airline, passenger and cargo, industry provides. Perhaps the economic impact was what Obama saw as a reason not to veto the FAA funding and not the inconvenience he was forcing on the American public.

Mr. DeLoach, Eugene would tell you to your face that you are a racist. In his ideology, if you don't support Obama with all your heart [ not brain ] then you must be a racist.

Support for BHO is at an all time low and continuing to decline, even if the media and contributors like Robinson, et al. won't admit the cold hard facts. This term will prove to be a disaster for BHO. You have to search really hard but there are BHO voters that are willing to admit the truth.

You really should check facts from unbiased sources - Congress approval rating 14%, President Obama's approval rating 50%. Very few presidents have approval ratings that high. Obama averaged 49% his first term. While he did have a 56% in December, 2012, it is accurate to say his approval rating has declined, such short term decline is meaningless since he is still above his average for the first term.

I checked the facts. While very few presidents have approvals that high, unfortunately, Obama has very few presidents LOWER that his average approval rating.

I know you prefer sources, so here is a source.

Can you read? I checked your link and it only illustrates how some warp what they read. It does not even have a comparison of Obama's overall average approval rating as compared to any other president. It only mentions the 17th quarter of his presidency. A select 3 month period has little significance over a 32 quarter presidency. Of more significance would be the lowest approval rating during a presidents time in office. Note that for the last 75 years, Obama's lowest approval rating is higher that all except Roosevelt. Eisenhower and Kennedy. Yes even the overly worshiped Reagan's approval rating dropped lower than Obama's.

Are you going to keep dismissing sources unless they ONLY agree with you? Some people will look at this conversation like this. Obama Supporter There are no sources showing he is wrong on anything. FactChecker Ok, here is one. ObamaSupporter That one is not legitimate. FactChecker Ok, here is another source. ObamaSupporter Nope, that one cannot be true either. Actually none of the sources you pick will go against Obama. So, case closed. And so are some people's minds.

If they polled people who could think for themselves, Obamarama's ratings would be in the teens. However all these polls include stupid people who only believe what they read in the AJC or (for those who can't read) who watch on MSNBC. Obama has bolstered his ratings by going on the View who are so far up his $#@, it is a joke Of course if he really wants a ratings boost, he goes to queen Oprah. Her core viewership believes all the garbage she throws at them.

And once again we see that those with no facts resort to lame insults.

Ms. Jan you are attacking others for no facts, but where are your sources? I provided an unbiased source (BHO voters) that are deeply unhappy with him, but you dismissed it and ignored your own Democrat block of supporters These are BHO voters, this is a fact:

You should further examine your referenced site. It takes very little knowledge to realize they are even more loose with "facts" than Fox news. I find it a waste of time to present facts to anyone that believes some of the absurd propaganda posted on that, obviously biased, site. If you are interested in facts, try to find support for all ten items in the list you cited from reputable sources. Some items are totally false, others are state issues for which Obama has no responsibility. He is not a dictator and has no control over Republican Governors that are operating on self interest instead of state interest.

GOP Governors DO operate on the interest of the folks that voted them in. That is why they are in office. Liberals operate on the interest of themselves and their base. Both parties have hid behind false words and lies. This is why I never re-elect anyone that runs against an opponent. Keep re-electing, and this is the sort of gridlock you end up with. Each party sticks to its own ideology, and why not if you truly believe in your party's principals. However, one party has better principals than the other. I happen to like the principal of each person can be what he wants to without the help of other people's money. To each his own!

Ms. Jan you have once again posted 2x denying valid sources without providing links to back your claims. You have no authority to deny my source when you cannot provide a proper link of your own.

Oh, it doesn't matter what the facts are. What matters is the gaa-zillions of debt this country will be in when Obamarama's reign of socialism is over. I will go back to my original statement. People who can't think for themselves think this guy is doing a good job, so the approval ratings are bogus.

Great letter! Liberals hate facts.
