Peachtree Ridge's Brown to announce college choice Thursday

Peachtree Ridge junior Orlando Brown, a heavily recruited prospect from the class of 2014, plans to announce his college commitment today at his high school.

The 6-foot-7, 340-pound offensive lineman has drawn nationwide attention from college coaches and has a big list of favorites and offers, according to Lions head football coach Mark Fleetwood. Among those schools are Oklahoma, Oregon, Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Ohio State and Alabama.

Brown transferred to Peachtree Ridge during his sophomore year after previously attending DeMatha High in Hyattsville, Md. He is the son of former NFL offensive lineman Orlando Brown Sr., who passed away in 2011.

ESPN ranks Brown as the No. 36 player in Georgia for the class of 2014.
