SUWANEE -- A book signing for a local author is scheduled for 2 to 5 p.m. Friday at Catch Air in Suwanee.
Cumming resident Leigh Ann Linn will sign copies of her book, "Drowsy Eels on Banana Peels"
According to a release from Tate Publishing, "Drowsy Eels on Banana Peels" is a story that "will capture your child's imagination and show them the fun to be had in everyday life. They will learn how to rhyme words and grab onto a story with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Catch Air is located at 2870 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, Suwanee.LILBURN -- Strength of Nature Hair Care Giant and Assisted Living Locators have joined forces to host Restored & Renewed 2013. On Saturday, social workers from throughout the Atlanta area are invited to the Georgia Institute of Cosmetology and Esthetics, 495 Indian Trail-Lilburn Road, Lilburn, for a day of pampering and empowerment.
Through the generosity of the sponsors, 50 social workers will escape the stresses of their jobs for a day, as they enjoy mini facials, manicures, pedicures, massages and makeup application.
The brainchild of Assisted Living Locators, this event is designed to "celebrate unsung heroes for their hard word and dedication. Strength of Nature has enlisted the services of celebrity hair stylists and their creative styling teams, as well as several notable makeup artists to assist in providing complimentary services."
In addition to makeovers, guest speakers were enlisted. Stacey Speller has been invited to "inspire, uplift and encourage" the human service providers, while Cathryn Marshall will provide the group with the necessary tools to make healthier lifestyle choices.
