Grayson DDA announces new manager

GRAYSON -- The city of Grayson's Downtown Development Authority has named a new manager.

Gail Lane will begin her duties as downtown development manager on Monday, serving as a liaison to downtown merchants and attempting to promote Grayson's "new business incubator," according to an official news release. Lane will plan to inventory and market Grayson to underserved businesses and promote the benefits of relocation to the city.

"I have worked side-by-side with many of Grayson's business owners and administrative leaders," Lane said. "I look forward to sharing my experiences to further the mission of Grayson's DDA, and positively impact economic development throughout our city."

Lane is a longtime resident of the area, officials said, and has a background in marketing, journalism and small business ownership.

The Grayson Downtown Development Authority was established in 2010.
