DACULA -- Three years ago, Friends Sports Grill in Dacula hosted an Easter fundraiser for Ansley Arnette, a Lawrenceville girl who was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor. It covered the entire right side of her brain.
Arnette passed away Nov. 23, 2011, but the restaurant still holds the event.
On Sunday, Friends is inviting the public to its eatery for the Annual Charity Event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year, all of the proceeds will be divided between two children: 4-year-old Addison (who wants her last name left confidential) and 8-year-old Will Wagner, son of Winder-Barrow football coach David Wagner, with a Non-Germinomatous Germ Cell Tumor.
During the event, there will be a silent auction, live auction, Easter egg hunt, live music, an inflatable house and buffet. In case you cannot attend the event, but would still like to help, you can drop off monetary donations at Friends Sports Grill.
The money is evenly divided to help with the children's mounting medical bills.
Friends Sports Grill is located at 752 Dacula Road in Dacula.
